A wise piece of advice: observe them first from the inside before admiring them from the outside for an astonishing visual surprise!
Saint-Cirq Lapopie
The village of Saint-Cirq Lapopie, voted the most beautiful village in France in 2012, offers a spectacular view from the air. Just 20 minutes from our location, take the towpath starting from Bouzies to reach this picturesque village. Choose another route towards the lock and the mill for a different perspective before arriving at Saint-Cirq Lapopie.
Rocamadour
Rocamadour, a medieval city and renowned pilgrimage site, is nestled in the Dordogne valley, just 50 minutes from our establishment. Perched on a cliff, this town is home to a basilica and a castle overlooking the surrounding area. It is a place of veneration for the Black Virgin, protector of sailors, and for Saint Amadour. Every year in September, the hot air balloon festival offers a remarkable spectacle.

The Pech Merle Cave, just 20 minutes away from us, features authentic cave paintings that reflect traces of human life dating back thousands of years. Its moving atmosphere and authenticity make it a must-visit attraction. It is strongly recommended to book your tickets online during the season due to high attendance and the limited number of visitors for conservation reasons.
The Phosphatic Quarries of Cloup d’Aural
Les Phosphatières du Cloup d’Aural is a true initiatory journey that allows you to leap back 70 million years into the past by exploring this open-air cave where each layer of rock tells a fascinating story. From the discovery of the geological formation of the phosphatières to its extraction, through paleontological discoveries and lush tropical vegetation, including mossy waterfalls, giant ferns, and orchids, each step is a genuine adventure through time!
The Pterosaur Beach
The guides with their infectious passion for Pterosaur Beach will take you back 150 million years to discover the animal species that inhabited this seaside beach. The organizers have managed to provide modern techniques to facilitate the visualization of this time-travel journey.
The Padirac Chasm
The Padirac chasm, located 10 minutes from Rocamadour, fascinates with its legendary creation attributed to a kick from the dragon. This geological wonder offers an impressive experience. Book your tickets online during the tourist season to avoid the crowds.
The Lascaux 4 Cave
Finally, an hour’s drive from our establishment, the Lascaux 4 cave in Montignac, Dordogne offers an accurate reproduction of the famous cave, enhanced with modern rooms for a deeper understanding of prehistoric paintings and engravings. An immersive experience is available with the option to revisit the cave equipped with a 3D headset for an enriched experience.
Carennac
Carennac, a charming medieval village in the Lot, is a must-visit destination for history and heritage lovers. At the heart of the village, the 11th-century Romanesque church impresses with its beauty and invites contemplation. Right next to it, the Gothic cloister, which has an entrance fee, is definitely worth a visit. This place, imbued with calm and serenity, transports visitors into a peaceful atmosphere, where each stone seems to tell a story. Just a stone’s throw away, the castle reveals its richly adorned ceilings. After these visits, there’s nothing like a break at the crêperie located at the foot of the castle, where you can enjoy a crêpe or sip a drink on the terrace. In this picturesque setting, Carennac is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the authentic charm of the Dordogne valley.
